Growing up I remember watching many RPG Maker Games on YouTube. Games like IB or Witches House were one of my favorites. Satsuriku no Tenshi aka Angels of Death Episode 1 is based off of a RPG Maker Game. So far its different and could easily be a great series. Ready for Angels of Death Episode 2 Review?

thoughts
for an anime based off an rpg maker indie game this was pretty good. though i think the games way of telling the story was better. this gave away to much hint to the story so it was too easy to figure out what was going to happen. especially with the intro of each episode….
because of this i'd recommend the game over the anime for people new to the series of course many people don't like reading and you need to.

Overall
A faithful adaption of the source, for the most part well done but foreshadowing/hints made the plot a bit too obvious instead of being surprised when it would be revealed.

What's wrong with this
Intro gives spoilers (characters that will appear,and you can guess a few things that will happen based on this alone)

the scene where the priest is on Zacks floor and sees a bird on the ground. this bird was supposed to be buried in a near by park (not shown in anime) while not shown it was mentioned by the hallucination of eddie that she did bury the bird. so it should not have been where it died.

I think the pace for the anime is a bit too fast and some scenes are a bit different from the game in both good ways and some wired ways. Overall I still enjoyed the first episode but I still prefer the game

Everyone in that building is a killer but each one has something good or innocent about them. Like Zach is a killer but he has the mind of a child and so on.

As someone who has played and is a big fan of the game, Rachel as a character is more interesting than you would first believe. Throughout the episodes, you'll soon be able to find the answers to some of your questions, but will develope more and more questions about Rachel in the process.

What weirded me the most actually not the creepyness, not the weird scenes, but…
The scythe boy's design (oops forgot his name). His face actually. That's not how bandages work lol.

I mean tbh… that's literally what horror/rpg maker games are like. The intro/prologue/beginning is supposed to make you question what the fuck is going on.

There's a manga to it, I read it but it got too repetitive at one point. It could be it started as a RPG Maker game but I remember reading a manga exactly like this one, with Isaac Foster included and all.

you might be right about the purgatory thing. In Dante's Purgatorio, the floor of envy's trial had all the people's eyes sewn shut. This is really similar to the second floor where that guy is envious of her eyes and wants to gouge them out. That being said, if she killed her parents there's no way she would go to purgatory, she would definitely go to hell. But if her parents were somehow evil and killing them was 'the right thing to do,' it would make sense why she's in purgatory because she entered a moral gray area.

How is stitching up a corpse not normal? If you see its organs falling out which is disgusting your wanting to stitch it up so the corpse looks nice and pretty should be pretty understandable, like what those people who puts makeup on corpse before laying them into the coffin. I don't see what's wrong with it. Or maybe I'm just psychotic cuz apparently psychopath logic can only be understood by psychopath and not sane people.

After playing the game and reading what is translated of the manga, I can say for sure that the characters go into much greater detail. This anime is very character driven, with lots of questions appearing throughout the story that will be answered later on. Stick with it! It's worth the ride. 😀
